Beginning and ending in Nairobi, this is an ideal extension for those either about to start or having just finished the Tanzania expedition.
Undoubtedly one of the most humbling experiences in life is to come face to face with the mighty mountain gorilla in it's own habitat. These gentle giants inhabit the rain forests of Uganda, DRC and Rwanda, allowing us an ever diminishing opportunity to view them in their natural environment. Other highlights to this safari are the memorable countryside of Uganda, known as the 'Pearl of Africa', navigating the source of the Nile, and searching for the 'big five' in world prominent game parks.

If you are coming up from South Africa after the Penguin Rescue project in Cape Town, this is an ideal extension to connect you to East Africa and our Tanzania expedition.
Windhoek, the cosmopolitan hub of Namibia is the starting point for this safari. Sand boarding, sky diving and quad biking are on the cards, before Journeying up north, entering Botswana. From one waterway to another, you will travel to the mighty Victoria Falls and further north to Lake Malawi before ending up on the colourful island of Zanzibar.
African Dream
26 days, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania
African Dream is another excellent, but slightly different, route to see the best of Africa when travelling from South Africa to Tanzania.
Taking in the beauty of the Kruger National Park, exploring the history and wildlife of Zimbabwe, standing metres away from one of the world's natural wonders, this safari promises to provide memories for a lifetime.
African Encounter

This expeditions operates in both directions, so if you are looking to connect from the Tanzania expedition to Penguin Rescue in Cape Town, or vice versa, this is an excellent solution.
Beginning at the Atlantic waters of Cape Town you will travel through desert, bush veld and desolate coastline before journeying inland to the mighty waters of the Okavango Delta. Interacting with the wildlife and people of the countries in southern Africa is a highlight before following the route up north to the banks of Lake Malawi prior to arriving at the Indian Ocean and the ever popular Zanzibar.

For the ultimate African experience, this overland expedition would suit those on either the Penguin Rescue or Tanzania projects to get an in depth view of southern and eastern Africa. This overland expedition can be done in either direction.
