For the ultimate African experience, this overland expedition would suit those on either the Penguin Rescue or Tanzania projects to get an in depth view of souther and eastern Africa. This overland expedition can be done in either direction.

The vast continent of Africa conjures up images of plains full of animals, unspoilt coastlines mixed with a variety of cultures, tribes and religions. From Nairobi you will embark on the grand adventure starting with the unforgettable trekking of the mountain gorilla. The search for the ‘big five’ will take you up through the world renowned game parks of the Serengeti, Masaai Mara and Etosha National Park, to name but a few. You will go from the idyllic beaches of Zanzibar, to trying your hand at fishing off the banks of Lake Malawi, before entering the splendour of southern Africa which includes Victoria Falls, the dunes of the Namib Naukluft Park and the second largest canyon in the world, Fish River Canyon. The trip comes to an end in the shadow of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa.
