Wednesday
It’s week one! We arrived on Wednesday to blue skies and clear calm seas. After lunch, we went on a brief swimming tour of some of the nearby islands and sand bars and a snorkeling tour to the artificial reefs set up by past Greenforce volunteers. On Thursday Ryan shaved his head and Jake and Ally carved a phallic image into Joe’s hair.
Later…Chore Shakedown!! We all learn the ways of the camp with such highlights as ‘poop’n’rake’ and ‘boat gimp’
Thursday
Thursday evening was QUIZ NIGHT!! This involved, among other things, modeling a gym out of clay, identifying tent noises and making ourselves into chairs. Le Coq Sportif won…go team!!
Friday
The highlight of Friday was the midnight crab hunt. We didn’t catch any but we’ve learnt from our mistakes and we’ll be back faster and more agile than last night!!
Saturday
Today saw us PADI Open Water students heading out to the reef for our first dive!! Good conditions prevailed although the current did give us a bit of trouble. In the ensuing fun weight belts were lost and found and super-sweet coffee imbibed. We are now submariners!!
Tonight is Kate’s fantastic K-themed dress-up booze bonanza. Everyone is dressed up as something beginning with K…Special K, a knight, a king, kidneys are all rumoured to be present!
