BAHAMAS - FIELD UPDATES - WEEK 6
The Week That Was- Week 6, Phase 23- 26thMay -3rd June 2007

A windy week at the Greenforce camp unfortunately meant another week of no diving. It started on Saturday with a trip to a 100m wide Blue hole, called Uncle Charlie’s Blue Hole. Joe, being the first to dive 6m in, surfaced with a full bottle of beer that had been left by previous visitors. After a little persuasion, almost everyone dived in from the highest board, at about 6m. That night, we went down to Timmy’s, a local bar, with everyone having a great night, especially Oli, who managed to get left behind (and later picked up). Tuesday was spent on a ‘Dragons Den’ challenge where 4 teams had to make something useful for the Camp. The winning team, Jackie, Oli and Edd, created a sunshade for the hammock on the beach. On Wednesday, the group went over to Calibash for a snorkel and then a sunbathe on Pigeon while those doing it finished the Rescue Diver course. Sean and Joe decided to walk the whole way back to camp and did so in record time. Thursday was the start of the raft race competition and broke into all out war in the evening with both teams fighting to get rope, polystyrene and anything that floats to their ‘safe zone’. Friday was sent making and testing the rafts so that they were ready for the race to come.
