BAHAMAS - FIELD UPDATES - WEEKS 1-2

by Nick & Nicola

It’s been 2 weeks +

All of us are qualified Open Water Divers now and for those who were already qualified it has been lying on the beach and enjoying the sunshine! And they also went to the amphitheatre on a fun dive where a curious barracuda was following them almost for the whole dive! J It has been quite windy, though compared to anywhere else it’s so beautiful!

The staff have been amazing making living easy and enjoyable, helping us cook and do our chores each day.

Saturday is our party night as Sunday is “de-fizz” day. First Saturday we stayed on camp around the fire. The Canadian boys taught everyone Zoomie-Zoomie while the locals shared the game of Ibble-Dibble. By the end of the night everyone’s faces were covered with black cork prints. J

The second Saturday we went to “Colours” – a local bar. It was a lot of fun, we met a lot of new people and tasted the local brew. Everyone needed Sunday to chill out and Brendan + Nicola’s pancakes helped with the sore heads. J

So far the trip has been a lot of fun and we’ve had loads of new experiences. We also went to the local school where we taught the kids about computers and played all sorts of outdoor games with them. And even though we were all exhausted after a couple of hours, it was a very rewarding experience as our expedition has been so far!
