On arrival: We meet you on arrival at Quito International Airport - just look for our Greenforce shirts! In the morning we bring you to our office for your Welcome and Safety briefing. This is also an opportunity to discuss your placement with you and any questions you may have. We will then take you to your teaching placement. Following the introductions we will also settle you into your accommodation.

Based in either Quito - the second highest capital in the world, Cuenca or Guayaquil our teaching placements are in local secondary schools, universities or English teaching institutes. Each institution is carefully screened to provide a challenging experience for the Greenforce participant.

Andes, amazon, Galapagos - beach, Glacier and jungle!

You will typically be teaching in small groups and one to one sessions in the schools or languages institutes.

You can also earn extra money by teaching to businessmen and woman in the evenings or weeks end - an ideal way to make extra money to enable your to take time off and travel around this amazing country.

Ecuador is an amazing country to safely travel around - with the Andes, Amazon, Galapagos all within a few hours traveling. There is also ice climbing, surfing, rafting and dive schools to fill your weekends. Greenforce staff are there to help you.

Where will I teach?

Although Spanish is not a requirement it is useful, however an interest in teaching with an outgoing personality is key. Those with TEFL qualifications will secure the more highly paid placements. See our TEFL link - the investment in our TEFL course will typically be repaid to you within the first months, while experienced teachers can obtain an additional financial bonus.

For someone with our TEFL qualification and some leadership or teaching experience you will typically earn $600 per month or $7,200 per year.

To compare, a centrally located professional shared apartment will cost around $150-$200 per month and you will only need around $8 per day for your meals.

We provide your first two weeks accommodation for free, to help you settle in. You will also typically receive inclusive local medical insurance.

Teachers with Experience:

If you have your TEFL qualification and also previous TEFL experience, you can typically earn an additional $120-$150 per month for your accommodation and up to 30% of your flight cost too!

This is up to $10,000 in your first year.

WOW - How Do I Apply?

The is a great way to earn money in your GAP YEAR or have a low cost Career Break. You need to send us your CV and covering letter explaining why you will be a good teacher. You will also have the opportunity to speak direct to your placement school before you go.

Placements are from 9 months plus and are available year round in Quito and throughout Ecuador.

SOUTH AMERICA TEACHING ADVENTURE INCLUDES:

On receipt of your Booking Form, we will call to discuss any questions you may have. STA will also call you to discuss your flight options. You then receive briefing packs including medical, kit, FCO advice, country history and project information. Plus your GF polo. You will also be invited to your Meet Your Team briefing day and BBQ in Central London. We will fully prepare you before you go.
