GREENFORCE RESEARCH BASE

Our camp is based by a Maasai Village. We have also built a school near to our camp and thus maintain a close interaction with the Massai and learn about their culture and customs.

It is from this base we head out to undertake our wildlife surveys for the African Wildlife Foundation.

Kitchen and Food

We aim to purchase as much food locally to support the communities around us. For health and hygiene issues we do bring in some supplies from Arusha.

cooking

Volunteers take it turns to cook, which can produce some surprising results!

Where do I sleep?

In Arusha you will typically be based in a hostel or in our Greenforce house.

While on camp we have single sex "bomas". These round traditional Maasai houses have been updated to include individual sleeping areas.
