Help reintroduce former pets and injured wildlife back into the Amazon.
Typically female primates are killed for their new borns’ to be sold as pets. Once they grow up they cannot be kept as pets. Help give them a future, a life.
Program Outline
London Briefing Day: Meet your team; medical and country info - we fully prepare you!
Arrive: Airport collection, your Welcome and Safety briefing.
Day to Day:
Your working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm and Saturday mornings until the animals have been fed. The Daily Schedule is something like this:
7am - 8am: Breakfast at the volunteer house
8am - 1pm: Work at the centre on a number of projects alongside the local staff
1pm - 2pm: Lunch
2pm - 4pm: Free time to relax
4pm - 6pm: Continue your morning work. Feed animals and clean enclosures
6pm - 7pm: Dinner
7pm and on: Free time to relax, explore the surroundings
Free Time: On the weekends volunteers are welcome to stay and the centre and relax on the nearby lakes and rope swings, or visit the local rivers and waterfalls.
However, not far away is bustling Puyo, or slightly further away (1 hour) is the backpacking hotspot of Baños which is the base for various mountain biking, horse trekking, hot springs, jungle tours, shopping and even visits to the Tungurahua volcano!
You can go white water rafting through the rainforest, hike to stunning waterfalls and even go caving in Jumandi.
