Pay / Salary• The more experience you have (inc. a TEFL qualification) will increase your chances of earning a higher wage in Ecuador.
• For someone with a TEFL qualification and some leadership or teaching experience you could earn up to $600 per month or $7,200 per year. If you have your TEFL qualification and also previous TEFL experience, you could earn an additional $120-$150 per month.
• To teach professional adults at a Language Academy, you are required to be a minimum age of 21 and have some previous teaching experience.
• We provide your first two weeks accommodation for free, to help you settle in. You will also typically receive inclusive local medical insurance.
• Typically a centrally located professional shared apartment will cost around $150-$200 per month and you will only need around $8 per day for your meals.
• Your apartment will have a kitchen unit, bathrooms and could be shared between two to four people.
• The currency of Ecuador is the US dollar. You can use your credit card when out there. ATM’S are also available if you need to get cash out during your stay.
Pre-requisites• We do recommend that you have some experience in teaching for this program. It is not required that you have a teaching qualification however if you have a TEFL qualification you are likely to secure the more highly paid placements.
• If you do not have any teaching experience it is a good idea to get a TEFL in the UK before you go. The investment in your TEFL course will typically be repaid to you within the first months, while experienced teachers can obtain an additional financial bonus.
• We look for people with an interest in teaching that have an outgoing personality and a leadership quality. Spanish is not a requirement yet it is useful to have a working knowledge of the language so you can interact with the community and culture around you.
• On receipt of deposit payment you will receive a Welcome E-mail enabling you access to your personal page including medical form, kit list, country history and project information.
• You will also be invited to your Meet Your Team briefing day and BBQ in Central London. We will fully prepare you before you go.

• Climate - tropical along coast, becoming cooler inland at higher elevations; tropical in Amazonian jungle lowlands
• Spanish is Ecuador's official language however the Indian population speak Quichua, an Inca language. Other than Spanish, ten native languages are spoken in Ecuador. English is the most popular spoken foreign language amongst tourist and professionals.
• The placement is open to all nationalities. It is always best to double check any visa requirements directly with the countries embassy in your country or on the web before booking to go anywhere.
• The minimum age for this trip is 17 years and there is no maximum.

Arrival
Day 1
On arrival at Quito International Airport - just look for our Greenforce shirts! In the morning we bring you to our office for your Welcome and Safety briefing. This is also an opportunity to discuss your placement with you and any questions you may have. We will then take you to your teaching placement. Following the introductions we will also settle you into your accommodation
The rest of your time there
You will typically be teaching in small groups and one to one sessions in the schools or languages institutes.
You can also earn extra money by teaching to businessmen and woman in the evenings or weekends - an ideal way to make extra money to enable you to take time off and travel around this amazing country to see such sites as Amazon, Andes, Galapagos and the city of Ecuador itself.
