Your Financial Protection It is important to know that you will be safe on your project. Although we have over twenty years experience we have ensured your money will also be safe with us. All bookings paid by your credit card are typically protected, check with your individual card company. In addition we are a bonded travel operator: Call us for your full policy details, but here is a summary “In accordance with The Package Travel, Package Tours Regulations 1992 all passengers booking with Gapforce (London) Ltd are fully insured for the initial deposit and subsequently the balance of monies paid as detailed in your booking confirmation form. The policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Gapforce (London) Ltd. This insurance has been arranged by Towergate Chapman Stevens through HCCI International Insurance Company PLC.”

The current Government (2011) policy is to reduce the paperwork and legal restrictions on school trips to encourage schools to undertake exciting, educationally valuable and risk reduced programs.

There are two main regulations – for programs taking place in the UK you need Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC). For programs overseas you need British Standard 8848 “The Provision of visits, fieldwork, expeditions and adventurous activities outside the UK”. This can be undertaken by self assessment or independent inspection. We believe you cannot compromise of safety. So we are independently inspected by the Youth Explorers Trust.
