Overview

An epic South East Asian adventure combining an introduction to Thai culture, community projects, working at our Elephant Sanctuary and a road trip through Laos & Cambodia! Spend a week learning about Thai culture, 2 weeks volunteering in one of our meaningful community & wildlife projects, and 3 weeks on a road trip through three amazing countries!

What to Expect

Immerse yourself in local Customs & Culture This three week programme begins in Bangkok for a few days before moving south to the epic beaches of Hua Hin. Thai cooking, Thai language, temple and community visits ensure you are fully immersed in Thai culture.

Assist on our local community project - You are based in the local orphanage, who fully appreciates enthusiastic volunteers willing to pass on their knowledge and experience. This orphanage was created as a direct result of the horrific tsunami in 2004. Be a direct help to the relief of this disaster. Duties here include preparing meals, house work, light maintenance and renovation, teaching English to the children and generally helping with day to day running of the home

Volunteer with Elephants, Gibbons & Sun Bears - Help towards our animal conservation projects! Based on temple grounds, our large rescue centre helps rehabilitate elephants, sun bears and gibbons back into the wild. Gain close contact and a once in a lifetime experience helping these mistreated animals. As more animals are rescued, more space is needed, so you'll also be helping to expand this very worthwhile project further.

Road trip through Thailand, Laos & Cambodia – an epic 3 week journey exploring the best of 3 diverse countries! First stop, Chang Mai in Northern Thailand famous for its beautiful rainforest and elephant riding. From here you cross the border into Laos, seeing the majestic and captivating mountains of Vang Vieng, before moving on to the lively town of Vientiane. From here you will head south to the mesmerizing Mekong Delta before crossing the border to Cambodia. Here you will see the river dolphins of Kratie, the capital Phnom Pheng, and the world famous Ankor Watt.

Why I Chose South East Asia

"I did the program in november last year and loved it!

In our first week  I felt I got good insights into thai culture, doing a range of things like making bracelets and visiting the famous monkey temple.  It's not a typical tourist place so its not as westernised as the rest of Thailand, thus I felt it a more accurate place and representation of thai culture. The volunteering was amazing! At the Elephant sanctuary you'll get to prepare the food, wash them in the river and opt for a short ride!

I felt safe the entirety of the trip and met a great bunch of people whom i've stayed in touch with after we've split! I would recommend!"
